About me

Robin Mudge is a founding member of IDMA. He is an internationally-based producer and consultant, specializing in the conceptual development, origination and production of collaborative learning systems and related interactive media projects.

Robin has had a distinguished 20-year career in the UK's BBC as an award winning educational documentary filmmaker and producer of new media projects. His extensive experience of traditional media production, combined with a deep understanding of Internet-based systems, gives him a very special insight into new educational service opportunities that the connected world offers. In this area, Robin was the chief architect and creative director for the BBC Learning Station, a suite of sophisticated on-line TV and interactive learning services for children, parents and teachers.

Since leaving the BBC, Robin has produced a number of large scale, industry leading and award winning services. These include a nationwide on-line distance learning system for the UK Government and the envisioning of a global broadband educational television service for Pearson PLC. Robin was invited to the US as a consultant to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting on a project designed to develop new kinds of on-line educational services for PBS. The American University then invited him to be a professor in the School of Communication, where he taught photography and filmmaking.

He is now a permanent resident in the US and, most recently, had been the Director of Digital Filmmaking at the Center For Digital Imaging Arts @ Boston University, where he built a new web-based course management service for full and part-time student.
